Depression: blue, dark....or ¿white?

We are used to hear about depresion as blue or dark, and once i read: "... spoke about about how connecting depression/sadness with darkness is prevalent in dominant discourses and that such practices do not fully unpack the implications and impacts on constructions of people of colour." (The International Journal of Narrative Therapy and Community work 2011 No. 1, Dulwich Centre Publications).

It made me think, how can be another way of thinking about depression/sadness...could it be white? and then i remember that when i take photos in the manual way, and if i do not handlle the velocity and openness of the shuttering lens of the camera according to the light, i can end with a white photo! were you can see nothing!, just brightness, no objects well defined, excess of clarity, no colors, nothing! So, if we can also talk about deppresion as a white photo or an excess of whitness were you can´t see nothing, nothing is clear or defined, difficult to make choices or to choose...also can be heavy and a burden.

We live very used to polarities: tall/short, rich/poor, white/dark, thin/fat, where one side is priviledge and the other not, even, one side can be called as "good" and the other as "bad".

There is a lot of options in the betweens, i wish, and we can try, to use them more, to dare to choose so many ways of doing things, to stop this polarizations that i think doesn´t help much....

     What do you think...?

      Saludos.....
